Liverpool Businesses go head to head at Metquarter World Cup Competition on Thursday 10th June

 

On Thursday 10th June from 6.30pm to 9.00pm Metquarter is holding a Corporate World Cup event for the local business community. Metquarter will be recreating the World Cup with 32 teams battling it out on the table football pitches to grab the winning title and competing for Metquarter prizes. The teams are selling out fast to businesses such as LFC, King Sturge, Medicash, Ford, Clarity Creation, Rapid, Rampworx, City Central, Another Media and Gossip Magazine. Tickets are available on a first come first serve basis via Metquarter website www.metquarter.com or Vicki Hughes on 0151 224 2399. Teams can consist of two to six people and all proceeds go to men’s charity CALM. The celebrations ‘Kick Off’ at Metquarter with table football, old school arcade machines such as virtual striker 3, a chill out zone by CALM and drinks by Revolution. All local professionals are welcome to come and support the competition.

Jonathan Kane the Director of International Business Development of LFC has expressed his enthusiasm about the tournament saying "We are all really excited and geared up for the competition and given that we work for a football club, we'll have our own physio, masseuse, psychologist and chef with us. In addition we'll be wearing the new adidas kit that has been designed specifically for table football, we have to win!"

Martyn Green one of the partners at King Sturge was also keen to sign up saying "As soon as I heard about the Corporate Metquarter World Cup Competition I was keen to have King Sturge on board. We are very competitive and we would love to win the title - bring it on!"

The event continues with a weekend of promotion on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th June. There will be huge prizes up for grabs and promotional offers from selected retailers. Metquarter is urging shoppers to show their support for England by recording good luck messages on air with Juice FM who will be broadcasting from the event live on air at Metquarter. And there will be live updates throughout the weekend with goals and scores from the first weekend World Cup games!
