Mission Statement

'By 2008, City Central BID will provide a safe, clean, attractive and well promoted distinctive trading area within the City Centre that establishes the high standards for City Central necessary to ensure its full competitive integration into the drive to establish Liverpool as a premier European city.'

In order to achieve this, the Liverpool City Central BID is delivering a range of services identified by businesses as their key targeted priorities.

These services are over and above the current services which are delivered by public and private sector providers, these being fully detailed in Baseline Agreements. This ensures that the activity will have genuine value and additionality and will therefore make a measurable difference to the business performance of those trading in the City Central BID area.

Following and initial consultation process with businesses within the BID area, the three core activity areas currently being delivered in the BID are as follows:

  1. Deliver a high quality marketing campaign including, Radio and Press adverts to drive customer footflow to Liverpool.
  2. Undertake new, additional activities in street cleaning and maintenance which help ensure that the basic customer experience is positive.
  3. Build on excellent events and a low crime, safe environment to encourage longer visits, increasing both customer spend and satisfaction levels, leading to continued repeat visits.

The Liverpool BID Company has established City Central as a quality shopping destination. It delivers high quality additional cleaning, maintenance, operational management, crime & safety and marketing & events programmes which directly correlates to improved customer satisfaction.

It is preparing the area to derive real benefits from Liverpool's 2008 'European Capital of Culture' programme. Working in partnership with the retailers, the public sector and the visitors to ensure the legacy of European Capital of Culture is felt for many years to come.
