City Central, the retail and leisure heart of Liverpool city centre, is easily accessible by car, bus, air and train.

Public Transport Directions

Regular services to and from Liverpool make it one of the most accessible cities on the UK rail network. Virgin trains operate a London-Liverpool service, with a journey time of just over 2 hours.

National Express operates regular services from all major towns and cities in Britain to Norton Street Coach Station, Liverpool.

Liverpool Central Station is in the heart of the area and provides regular trains into the city centre from across the Wirral, Merseyside and links to the rest of the UK.

City Central is easily accessible by bus with stops at Queen Square Bus Station and outside Lewis’s on Renshaw Street.

By Car

If you're travelling from outside the city, follow signage for Liverpool city centre and Queen Square or St Johns car parks.
From the M62:
 
At the end of the Motorway continue forward onto the A5080.
 
Keep in the left hand lane and continue forward onto the A5047 (signposted City Centre).
 
At traffic signals turn right onto the B5340 (not shown), signposted City Centre, Tunnels, and Royal Liverpool Hospital.
 
At traffic signals turn left onto the A57, signposted Royal Liverpool Hospital.
 
At traffic signals turn right onto the A5047, signposted Birkenhead, City Centre.

By Air

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is only 7.13 miles or 11.47 km from City Central. Exit the airport following the signs for Liverpool. At the junction take a left turn onto Speke Boulevard and continue along the dual carriageway straight ahead following the signs to Liverpool city centre.  Follow the signs to Lime Street Railway Station and St Johns Shoppers Car Park.

A regular bus service is also available from the airport into Liverpool city centre.

St Johns Car Park

St Johns car park is open 24 hours and 7 days a week and parking is subject to terms and conditions displayed. It is open but unmanned on Christmas Day.

Should any customer using the car park encounter a breakdown the AA will try and fix their vehicle on site, or if they are unable to do so, take them and their to the nearest garage or to their home if they live within a ten mile radius. This is a free of charge service to our customers who will only be asked to pay for parts.

Queen Square

Queen Square Car Park has 601 spaces and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Tariffs are as follows:

1 – 2 hours £3.80
2 – 3 hours £6.00
3 - 4 hours £8.00
4 – 5 hours £9.00
5 – 6 hours £10.00
6 – 9 hours £12.00
9 – 12 hours £15.00
Over 12 hrs £18

Night rate (from 6pm to 8am) £2.50 all night

5 Day Pass (Mon to Fri 24 hr pass) £414.89 + vat per quarter
7 day Pass (7 day 24 hour pass) £457.45 + vat per quarter

We offer a £8 working day (Monday – Friday) parking pass which allows parking on Monday – Friday from 7am to 7pm for £8 per visit

We are a Merseyside Police accredited car park and are manned 24 hours a day with over 60 CCTV cameras are also in operation.

There is also on street (pay and display) car parking available in Bold Street.
